You know how sometimes people on your friends-list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.
1. First Name: Legally it's Andrew, but I don't like that name at all. My name of choice is Sasha, and I eventually plan to make that my legal name. Other options include Javs, Javier, and Tangy (although only

This was for a self-portrait assignment in my Intro. to Photography class in the fall. I think it sums me up pretty well. Occasionally I straighten my hair, causing me to look quite a bit different (and better, in my opinion), but I'm normally too lazy or I get up too late or something.
2. Age: Twenty. This needs no elaboration.
3. Location: I am a proud resident of Akron, Ohio. It's the kind of place where most people wouldn't want to live, but I love it here. The house I live in with three friends (permanently) and my boyfriend (temporarily) is literally two houses away from the Cuyahoga River, and there's a beautiful wooded park along its shores. The century-old house isn't perfect, but it's pretty big and has a lot of charm. We moved in here about a month ago and we're still working to fix it up and get it to be the way we want it.
4. Occupation: I am employed as a student assistant in a College of Education computer lab at The University of Akron. When I'm there, I'm in charge of three computer labs as well as tech support for the entire building. It's pretty easy, but it can get extremely boring when I work long shifts.
Additionally, I am a student at the same university, majoring in Metalsmithing. I get a lot of questions about what that actually is. It can be many things, I guess, but I mostly make jewelry. I was originally majoring in Photography, but I took a Metalsmithing class on a whim last semester and fell in love with it.
5. Partner: I've been with
6. Kids: None now, and probably none ever. :O
7. Brothers & Sisters: I have one brother, Ryan. He's six and a half years older than me, so we've never been particularly close. We rarely fought as kids, but then again we rarely spoke. He was basically my anti-role model, and we are very much opposites because of that. He loves sports and women. As a teenager he got in trouble pretty frequently and has spent time in jail. He was arrested for drunk driving when he was fifteen years old. He's a lot different now though, which is definitely a good thing.
8. Pets: The only pet that lives with me is my ferret Norbert. I also have a cat named Rusty and a dog named Missy who both live at my parents' house. (They also have a pet pygmy goat, but that one isn't mine.) There's a cat that lives in the neighborhood that hangs out in our house once in a while, but it isn't ours. It's declawed and well-cared for, so it must belong to someone.
10. Parents: My parents' names are Ralph and Beverly. I've gotten along well with them overall, although my dad and I haven't always been terribly close.
My mom and I have a lot in common and we are both sort of broody people, and we spend a lot of time talking about why everything sucks. It's nice to have someone with whom I can talk about those things. If I complained to my dad he'd just tell me to suck it up. (In fact, he doesn't believe in depression, which is kinda funny considering he's an alcoholic due to his own depression.) My mom is one of the most important people in my life, and I would be devastated if anything were to happen to her.
My dad is an extremely hard worker who has always done his best to support the family, but he's a compulsive shopper and a poor decision maker. Although he was always working long hours when I was a kid, we were still really poor (to the point of frequently going without running water and/or electricity) due to his unchecked spending. Although I have a lot to be angry with him about, he's very kind and charismatic, which makes it difficult to stay legitimately mad at him. Recently he stole a $4,667 check from me and took out a credit card in my name. I confronted him about it, and now he's (very slowly) paying me back. Still, I love him and get along with him these days.
The one rift between my parents and me is my sexuality. Although they've never been particularly religious people, there's still something inside them that causes them to disapprove of homosexuality. When I first revealed it to them, they made my life pretty miserable for a while. We still don't really talk about it. Someday I hope it will stop being such a taboo subject.
11. Who are some of your closest friends?: Oh, I dunno. My closest (and oldest) friend is Andrew Lang. We've been friends since I moved to Mansfield with my parents in second grade. Beyond that, I can't really say. If people don't talk to me for a while, I tend to think they don't like me anymore and that makes me like them less. Other good friends include Alyssa, Nate, Kristen, Cole, Jim (

That's okay, I still love him.
Old post is old.
Can I call you Jasha.

i live in a house in akron with some friends and my boyfriend and it is a good time mostly and i work and go to school and sometimes i get on IRC and i check deviantart and i check furaffinity and that is pretty much the extent of my life.
whatever happened to YOU?
January 6 2011, 05:26:04 UTC 1 year ago
My mom still asks about you. :D

i don't have facebook anymore, so your failure was for good reason.
how did your boyfriend become a triangle? where did your teeth go? what books are you reading? where do you go to college?
in reverse.

Jonathan Franzen, Philip K. Dick, Mark Twain's autobiography, Kazuo Ishiguro, and David Byrne's book about bicycling!
I wish I had thought to ask the same question! But I was busy reacting badly to anesthesia, sooo.
Adorably enough, through Working Out! (Words cannot describe how delighted I was when he confessed this.)
Who is your boyfriend? Where do you work? What do you go to school for? How old is your house? Have you established a furry commune?

i haven't read seriously in way too long, but i like this list. i really need to finish a book.
shit! i am going to the dentist in two days and i hope to keep at least some of my teeth. i think at least three of them are going to go, though.
ohhhh, THAT kind of triangle. my boyfriend is definitely not a triangle but rather a ruler.
my boyfriend is some guy from washington (state) that i met on the internet who now lives with me. he is pretty, but he doesn't think so, and i think that's why i like him. i have some weird thing for people who are sad. but he is happy enough that i am still happy and he doesn't bring me down and in general we are happy which is good and i love him.
i work at this terrible computer lab in one of the buildings on my campus. sometimes it is easy but when both of my supervisors are angry it suddenly becomes very difficult which can be pretty frustrating.
i don't really know what i go to school for, but it is definitely something to do with art. i am on my fourth major now, but i am currently in sculpture. we will see how long that lasts. (i am guessing not long.) some day i may graduate with an actual degree, but it is looking less and less likely.
i think my house is just over one hundred years old, but i can't be completely sure. it is AT LEAST one hundred years old though. there is a hole in the living room ceiling and the landlord went bankrupt so it really doesn't belong to anyone and we are not paying rent. it is a nice situation despite the fact that we have no idea when we might be evicted.
i don't think i could ever establish a true furry commune because furries are generally horrible people, but there are three furries living in my house and i think that's about as close as i'll get. sometimes i make my non-furry friends go with me to furry conventions, though, and that is pretty fun/horrifying/embarrassing.
i am not on painkillers but i am on whiskey and bailey's irish cream so forgive me if this is a bit fractured.

Cornell?? Hahahahaha I wish (jk jk (ok so maybe I do wish a little)). Ithaca College, mang. But if you stop by I will certainly take you on the friday-night-Cornell-frat circuit.
I may be overstating the triangularity of the boyfriend. He is not bodybuilderly triangular. Just triangular enough to be obscurely attractive to a girl who is more accustomed to ruler-shaped guys. He is the first extroverted, leader-ish, unambiguously-happy-other-than-on-prearr
The last I knew, you were majoring in metalsmithing and photography and possibly zoology, all of which sounded interesting but unproductive... though, as an Undecided major, I can hardly talk. (Economics? Anthropology? Religion? ADD?)
I am excited for you vis a vis your real estate situation. At school, I live alone in a room on the 11th floor of a cinderblock apartment building. The light there is lovely but the objective truth of it kind of blows.
I would like to go to a furry convention.

i don't actually know anything about any of the things in ithaca; cornell is just the only one i know of there. (it is there, right?)
i didn't really expect bodybuilder triangles, so i think i was picturing his triangularity appropriately. sort of a tall isosceles triangle, i guess. i don't think i could get along with an extrovert because i am such an extrovert. i am happy with my introverted boyfriend even though i think sometimes i push him too hard to do things that are not introverted.
and yes, those are all things in which i have majored. zoology was the most useful of those, and it is also the one that is furthest in the past. i really don't think i could ever major in something... lucrative. AIN'T MY THING, YOU KNOW?
i know the feeling of living in cinderblock apartment buildings. i hope you are warm.
you should totally go to anthrocon this summer, and i am not even kidding.
January 8 2011, 04:37:22 UTC 1 year ago
I was unaware of your extrovertedness, having only communicated with you one on one (so to speak). Duly noted, though.
I wonder if zoologists would agree with your assessment.
I am, indeed, very warm. That's the problem, actually. Well, that and the soulful keyboardist downstairs.
What is Anthrocon? And if there was an equivalent in February, that would be good, and I am not even kidding either.
January 8 2011, 04:40:50 UTC 1 year ago
and anthrocon is the world's largest furry convention, in pittsburgh. i... don't know if there is an equivalent in february, unfortunately. :(
